Flashforge unveils new closed Adventurer 4 FDM 3D printer

Flashforge, manufacturer of consumer and professional-industrial 3D printers, has unveiled a new FDM 3D printer to its range of offerings – the Adventurer 4 FDM 3D printer. Built on the previous Adventurer 3 machine, this enclosed 3D printer comes with a range of features that provide greater ease of printing for its users.

Few of its notable features include the large build volume, no-level platform, and removable nozzles.

Features of the Adventurer 4 FDM 3D printer

1. Removable nozzle

The Adventurer 4 FDM 3D printer comes with three nozzles. Besides the default 0.4mm-240 ℃ nozzle, it comes with 0.4mm-265 ℃ nozzle in the packing box. The nozzle features a one-touch nozzle release system so users can quickly swap one for the other.

2. Large build volume

Just like its predecessor, the Adventurer 4 is also a fully enclosed unit. An enclosure prevents unwanted air flow and dust while keeping the temperature inside the enclosure warm. Overall, the case can help achieve better 3D printing results.

In addition to the casing, the printer boasts of a larger build volume. The Adventurer 4 has a build volume of 250mm x 220mm x 200mm. It also comes with a HEPA 13 filter and an enlarged spool holder capable of holding 1 kilogram spools of filament.

3. Specially designed build plate

The Adventurer 4 FDM 3D printer build plate is an 8mm thick aluminum plate. This CNC made plate is super flat and will not warp even when exposed to high temperatures. Above the aluminum plate is a magnetic surface plate which has slight flexibility to help pop out the printed models.

4. Free upgrade platform

Adventurer 4 adopts a nine-point bed calibration adjustment, a no-leveling system that allows the user not to manually level the build plate. Users only need to press the on-screen button to complete leveling.

5. Newly iterated Flashforge slicer

Flashforge recently updated its FlashPrint slicer software to version 5.1.1. This new version makes the Adventurer 4 very impressive. FlashPrint5.1.1 allows users to monitor and manage multiple 3D printers. An interesting feature of Adventurer is the Time-lapse video. The Adventurer 4’s on-board webcam helps the user to view the printing process online remotely on their computer and in real time, while the time-lapse function presses on it, the whole printing can be Saved as videos on the Adventurer 4 3D printer. After printing is completed, users can watch the videos on the printer or copy the video files to the computer.

The Adventurer 4 FDM 3D printer supports a wide range of materials, better meeting the printing requirements of 3D designers and structural engineers. It could be used to verify prototypes, test models in outlook, structural features, etc. Once thoroughly tested, the prototypes could be used for low-volume commercial production.
