Sleeping your way to the top

A new perspective on sleep.  Arianna Huffington discusses sleep as a way to succeed.

How energetic do you feel after only 4 hours of sleep; those hours seem to be the norm during the work week. Imagine if you were able to get in an average of 7 to 8 hours of sleep on any given night.  Arianna believes more sleep can increase your chances to succeed.  She suggests that you will be able to see the mountains through the trees.  In Fact, she urges us to “shut our eyes and see the big picture: We can sleep our way to increased productivity and happiness — and smarter decision-making.”  Source: Ted.com

Sleep is actually one of my favorite things to do on a rainy day or lazy Sunday afternoon. When I was a child, I remember my parents forcing a mid-day nap. This is a tradition  I have carried into my adult life, although some think it is very childish.  I always say, try it, you will be amazed at how refreshed you feel after a “power nap“. Maybe taking a siesta should be encouraged by Big Business.
