Malware in Android Market highlights Google’s vulnerability

With smart phones and tablets gaining greater dominance virus and malware makers will increasingly seek to target these devices for exploitation. EbonGeek predicted this trend back in January of 2011. As you may recall it was prediction number 10 “A major mobile virus will strike cell phones and tablets world wide highlighting the need for greater security and protection on mobile devices.”
“The inevitable has happened with the Android marketplace: Google pulled nearly two dozen apps Wednesday that were infected with malware capable of rooting devices and stealing data. The company is investigating dozens of others.” Source: Wired

The original was a game changer but we here at EbonGeek believe that this product offering by Apple ups the game for all the “me too” makers out there trying desperately to gain a foothold in the tablet market.
