Argonne National Lab close to breakthrough in nuclear waste recycling technology

With reactors on the verge of melt down in Japan following the massive 8.9 magnitude earthquake many have argued that this disaster demonstrates why nuclear power should not be considered an option for solving the worlds energy problem. But what if there was a way to close the loop on nuclear power? Argonne National Laboratory is close to being able to recycle up to 90% of nuclear waste from reactor fuel rods.
